Another new business has arrived in Barre! The Tree House Hardwoods & Millshop will open a new location in the former Rouleau Plant on Metro Way adjacent to N. Main Street. Now tenanting 10,000 sq. ft., Lucas Jenson of The Tree House said, “The building owner, Thom Lauzon, made me an offer I couldn’t refuse. That, combined with the rich heritage of fine craftsmanship in Barre and its transitioning downtown, and access to customers in the broader market of the northeast portion of the state, made it an easy decision.”
As the business name says, The Tree House sells to contractors, professional woodworkers and homeowners a diverse variety of high quality hardwood lumber and related productsin quantities from a single board to bulk packs. While they are not a cabinetry or furniture maker, their Millshop offers services to move the raw materials they sell closer to a finished product for customers who don’t have the time, expertise or machinery to do the work themselves. “With this location in central Vermont, I am sure we will do well. I am impressed with what I see in Barre with great stores, restaurants and creative businesses,” says Jenson.
“Tree House Hardwoods – and Lucas in particular – was a perfect fit” said Lauzon, “he’s a compliment to the growing number of young Vermonters who are choosing to start new businesses or purchase existing businesses in Barre. I have no doubt that he’s going to be incredibly successful”
Jenson expects to hire 2 to 3 employees and be open for retail sales in the next 2-3 weeks. He can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org
